Brasilia, November 4th, 2008
The Secretariat of the Federal Revenue of Brazil seized a total of approximately R$ 2,500,000 (two million and five hundred thousand reais) in merchandise in the Northeast of the country, which filled five moving trucks.
The smuggled products were found during the Operation Piratas da Serra carried out on November 1st, in the city center, at a place known as “Paraguay Street Fair”.
During the operation, the Anti Smuggling and Embezzlement Division of the local Superintendence had the support of all managing units of the Federal Revenue of Brazil in the 5th Tax Region as well as the Military Police of the State of Bahia.
