Federal Revenue launches anti-forgery and anti-piracy Operation Piratas S/A

The Federal Revenue of Brazil and the Civil Police of the State of Goiás (Office of Consumer Protection), launched this Friday, 29/10, the operation PIRATAS S/A, whose aim is to break out several groups that promote forgery and piracy of trademarks known worldwide and nationwide in the clothing market, in the City of Jaguará, interior of Goiás.

In this operation, 18 search & seizure warrants are being served in several commercial establishments, houses and warehouses in the City of Jaguará-GO. About 70 civil police officers and 30 Federal Revenue of Brazil officers took part of the operation.

For the Federal Revenue of Brazil, which is a member of the National Council against Piracy - CNCP, the combat against these crimes has to be executed jointly by the organized civil society and, only by integrating several inspection and repression bodies in one single task force, the evolution of organized crime in this area may be impaired.

The investigation work has been jointly developed for some months, and its start point was information that one of the largest Brazilian forgery and piracy centers in the clothing sector was Jaguará-GO, from where it was distributed nationwide.
