Federal Revenue seizes 73 vehicles in Parana, South of Brazil

The Federal Revenue of Brazil, in a joint operation with the Federal Police, the Federal Highway Patrol Police and the National Army, seized 43 cars and 30 motorcycles which would have entered the national territory irregularly a day before, in the city of Guaira/PR.

The circulation of vehicles in frontier cities depends on the regulation of each country. In Brazil, the law establishes that the vehicle and its owner must be from the same country, meaning that there is no legal provision for a Brazilian resident driving a vehicle registered in a foreign country.

The transport of the seized vehicles from Guaira to the Federal Revenue Office in Foz do Iguaçu will probably be finished by tomorrow.

The total amount of seizures is estimated in US$ 2,600,000.
