Anti-smuggling megaoperation continues in the Central region
After ten days of anti-smuggling joint actions in dozens of locations in São Paulo inland and coastline, Operation Anúbis reaches 25 de março region

A task-force formed by over 500 public officers from the Secretariat of the Federal Revenue of Brazil, the São Paulo State Revenue Office (Sefaz/SP) and the Federal and Military Polices serve 98 search warrants (MBA) issued by the Federal Justice, in order to inspect all boxes of a mall and popular galleries in the 25 de março region in the morning of this Tuesday (09/25).

The 98 search warrants authorize the Federal Revenue Tax Auditors and Sefaz/SP Income Tax Agents to search and seize any merchandise without a corresponding tax receipt or whose regular import is not dully proved. By Court decision, they also have the authority to retain computer equipments and tax documentation found at the site.

During the whole inspection, tax auditors and agents will rely on logistic support from a helicopter from the Federal Revenue of Brazil equipped for anti-smuggling, anti-embezzlement and anti-piracy actions.

After ten days of inspections in dozens of locations of the State’s inland, coastline and popular galleries of the Av. Paulista region, the joint action involving the Secretariat of the Federal Revenue of Brazil, the São Paulo State Revenue Office, the Federal, Highway Patrol and Military Polices as well as the Federal Prosecutor’s Office resulted in:

Seizure and retention of merchandise worth R$ 19,400,000;

Approach, physical and documental inspection of over 1,800 vehicles;

Seizure of 27 vehicles used in the transport of merchandise;

Arrest of 19 people, 02 of them foreigners in illegal situation in the Country;

Seizure of 3kg of cocaine and 9kg of cannabis.
